Prince Edward Island has no shortage of cute and cozy coffee shops. On a wintery day, be drawn indoors by the rich aroma of fresh coffee brewing mixed with the scent of cinnamon-filled baked goods and hints of bacon. Add a touch of warm Island hospitality and it will be easy to sit and stay for a while.
Here are 10 charming places to check out where you can satisfy your next caffeine or sweet tooth craving this winter.
Summerside
In downtown Summerside, Samuel's Coffee House is a destination for both locals and visitors who appreciate the rich heritage and culture of the community. When founder and creator Moyna Matheson began Samuel's, her vision was to create a space that would reflect the pulse and tastes of the community. The business is named after her ambitious ancestor — Samuel Holland, surveyor of PEI.
Located near the Confederation Trail in New Annan, snowmobilers and others are invited to plan a pit stop at Knead a Brake at the former schoolhouse on Barbara Weit Road. Co-owner Kirsten will wow you with her beautiful and delicious treats of "kookies, kroissants, kruffins, koffee" and more. Come back later in the year on your bike for repairs, fittings and custom builds. Open Thursday to Sunday.
