Start your time in Summerside with a history lesson. A walk along the tree-lined streets of the downtown core will reveal the splendid 19th century and early 20th century residential architecture and dramatic outdoor murals illustrate stories of the town's past. History buffs will enjoy the Lefurgey Cultural Centre, MacNaught History Centre and Archives, Wyatt Historic House Museum and International Fox Museum. Anne of Green Gables is famous for saying, “there’s nothing more delectable than ice cream” and in Summerside, Holman’s Ice Cream Parlour takes the prize for most delectable. Sample one of their daily, small-batch flavours or a classic soda while enjoying the outdoor heritage gardens.

Summerside is a great place to cycle along the waterfront boardwalk or one of the many municipal trails. For rentals, visit the Knot Beach Bar.  If you are looking for a slightly longer ride, cycle the Confederation Trail to Knead a Brake in New Annan (about 30 minutes) - a great little bakery, cafe and cycling pit stop.

Youngsters will enjoy the soft play area and indoor multi-sport turf at Off the Wallz in Slemon Park.

Budding potters will want to Play in Clay at Island Stoneware. Feel the joy that comes from working clay by hand and transforming it into a work of art to take home.

End your seaside adventure with a picnic at Spinnakers’ Landing or Green’s Shore Beach for some of the best views in town. Drop by Samuel’s Coffee House or the Summerside Bakery for freshly made sandwiches and sweets to take along.
