Anne of Green Gables on Audible
Published February 1, 2024 | Tourism PEI
Once again, the timeless tale of Anne of Green Gables is reimagined, this time as an Audible audiobook dramatization. Sandra Oh is the delightful narrator of the Canadian classic by author L.M. Montgomery published in 1908.
Listen to the other wonderful performances by Catherine O’Hara as Marilla Cuthbert, Victor Garber as Matthew Cuthbert and 17-year-old Michela Luci as Anne.
The book is read as a radio play in English and is directed by Canadian television, film and theatre icon Megan Follows, who played Anne Shirley in the 1985 award-winning mini-series Anne of Green Gables and two of its sequels.
"Had a blast directing Anne of Green Gables for @audible_ca. All the legends came out to play on this one! It’s a veritable who's who of Canadian icons. So fun to revisit this beautiful and humourous story from Lucy Maud Montgomery." - Megan Follows @meg_follows

Unlike movie and TV versions of the book, the audiobook invites listeners to envision the landscape of Prince Edward Island, often described as a separate character in the book, through the words of Montgomery herself, and often through the eyes of Anne.
150th Birthday Celebrations
In 2024, Prince Edward Island will celebrate the 150th birthday of the province's beloved author Lucy Maud Montgomery, born November 30, 1874, at her family home in Clifton, now New London (pictured).
Montgomery published 20 novels, 530 short stories, 500 poems and 30 essays that have been translated in over 50 different languages. Look for special commemorative content including a new addition to the Heritage Minutes collection about her life in the new year.
