About this Property

The Greenwich Interpretation Centre is the gateway to Greenwich, the easternmost section of PEI National Park. While this area is known best for its natural heritage, there are many important cultural themes explored here as well. Home to a rare parabolic dune system and the highest sand dunes in the province, Greenwich has ties to thousands of years of human history. Archaeologists have uncovered traces of major cultures that existed on Prince Edward Island over the past 10,000 years, including early Mi'kmaw communities, French and Acadian settlers, and Scottish, Irish and English immigrants.

The Greenwich Interpretation Centre houses exhibits exploring these themes and is currently hosting a special “Marine Species at Risk” exhibit featuring life-sized models of important aquatic species at risk.
