Where is the best place to see whales

Thank you for reaching out.

The best way to have a chance to see whales in PEI is on an excursion or charter. For the last two years, beluga whales were making an appearance in PEI rivers and harbours. Although this caused quite a stir, it is not the norm. Usually, you need to be out in deep water to see whales.

PEI is home to the Minke whale, the Pilot whale, and the Atlantic white-sided dolphin. They are rare to see but the best chance is out on the water in a boat.
