We are coming to PEI September 17th to 21st. What are the highlights? We plan to golf twice while there. We are staying in Summerside & Charlottetown. What is the weather usually like this time of year?

Good morning from Prince Edward Island,

You are coming to Canada's Food Island at just the right time to take part in the PEI Fall Flavours Festival. Events are hosted in communities across the Island including Summerside and Charlottetown. Tickets are selling fast so if you are interested I would recommend checking out the schedule and booking your tickets online as soon as possible. You can also search our listings of festivals and events based on your dates.

As you plan to travel between Charlottetown and Summerside, I would recommend golf courses in the Green Gables Shore area - Anderson's Creek and Glasgow Hills are favourites so call ahead to ensure you can book a tee time.

Summerside is a great starting point for the North Cape Coastal Drive itinerary. If you're up to more walking after a day on the golf course, Summerside is a very walkable city. You'll find Holman's Ice Cream Parlour located in the historic downtown.

In September, temperatures range from 8 to 22 degrees C (46-71 F). The mornings are cooler than in summer, but the afternoons are still warm. The Island takes on new beauty as the leaves change colour to breathtaking shades of orange, red, and yellow. Plan to dress for cooler weather.

Thank you for choosing Prince Edward Island and enjoy your visit.

Regards,

Verna Lynne Weeks
