Relocating from Ontario, considering moving to the island. In your opinion, where is the best place to live on the island and why?

Answer by:

Hi Joy!

How exciting to hear that you're thinking of moving to PEI! I absolutely love it here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else! I moved here from Ontario over 30 years ago.

I live in Eastern PEI, a rural area and I may be a little biased but it is a great place to live. We are surrounded by beaches, I can go in any direction and be at the shore in less than 10 minutes. My little town has everything I need and if I need more, Charlottetown is only an hour drive away.

If you're looking for more of an urban setting, Charlottetown, Stratford, Cornwall and Summerside are also all great choices. Western PEI is also amazing! It is also more rural and similar to eastern PEI, not too far from the more central urban areas.

I hope I didn't sound to wishy-washy with this answer! I think I may be too biased, as I don't think you can go wrong no matter where you go.

The PEI Government website has some great information on Moving to PEI! Hope to see you some day!

Take care,

Valerie
