Is the Greenwich beach floating boardwalk stroller and kid friendly? We’ve heard it’s a beautiful trail. We have a 7 year old, 5 year old and infant. Thank you!

Hello Ruth,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander!

There are three walking trails at the PEI National Park at Greenwich, all of the trails start from the trailhead parking lot.

The Greenwich Dunes Trail is the trail with the famous floating boardwalk, views of the parabolic dunes, and ends with a beautiful dune-lined beach. This trail is a 4.8 km return trip with no shade along the trail after you leave the wooded area. The floating boardwalk section of the trail is about 20-30 minutes into the walk. It is a beautiful trail! There are washrooms in the Interpretive Centre and a composting toilet at the trailhead, but after that, there are no washrooms until you get back.

You can use a stroller as long as it's suited for mixed terrain. Bring water, hats, sunscreen, and snacks (maybe some insect repellant) and you should be fine! The Interpretive Centre has a water bottle filling station if you want to just bring your bottles.

I hope this helps!
