Are the attractions (gables etc) still open in mid October? We are coming there Thanksgiving Weekend Any advice?

Hello Erik,
Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. I am glad to hear that you are coming to visit! October is a beautiful month in PEI. The weather is still nice, the pace is a little slower, the fall colours are starting to show and there are still many things to see and do.
Since you are coming on Thanksgiving weekend, you may run across a few things that are closed for the holiday but many will be open for business including Green Gables Heritage Place. They are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. until the end of October (including holidays). Montgomery Park is still open as well. The Anne of Green Gables Museum in Park Corner is open on Thanksgiving weekend too. Their hours for October are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They will be closing for the season on the 15th.
Anne & Gilbert, the Musical is on stage at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall until October 15th if you'd like to catch this great show!
If you are here on Friday and Saturday, check out the Street Feast Block Party in Charlottetown. It's BBQ-themed street food, local drinks, live music, bubble machines, chalk art, party games, dance performances, funky decorations, and more at this non-stop urban shindig. When in Charlottetown, be sure to keep an eye out for scarecrows! The Charlottetown Scarecrow Festival is happening all through October.
If you're looking for a Thanksgiving Dinner, the Turkey Tavern is already advertising for Thanksgiving! Reservations are open for Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th. Give them a call at (902) 360-1988, or email at [email protected] for reservations at one of the three sittings they will be offering: 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
See you soon!

Asked: I will be visiting Souris in early July 2024. I would love to take in a traditional lobster boil ( if that’s the correct wording , with the potatoes and corn and sea food ). Is there a local area known for offering this?
