Wade & Marney MacKinnon
Since retirement, Wade and Marney enjoy quiet mornings, volunteer work and spending more time outdoors each day. They love to help out with grandkids who all live in PEI. They are avid anglers and enjoy fishing striped bass, cod, mackerel, trout and flounder.
Where do you live?
Mermaid, Prince Edward Island
What is your favourite thing about life in PEI?
We love the beauty of our province and the many adventures PEI offers, i.e. beaches, hunting, fishing, hiking trails and camping.
What is something people wouldn't know if they're not from the Island?
We have no deer or moose on PEI.
What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy?
The outdoors and all it offers in our small province.
If you had to choose one spot on the island to take someone who has never been here, where would it be?
We would choose the PEI National Park - Greenwich as it's a beautiful stretch of beach with hiking trails and the biggest sand dunes on PEI. There are three hiking trails which vary in length from 1.25 km to 4.5 km. Some of the trail is in a wooded area and some of the trail is across a beautiful walkway over the water. The beach is sandy and the water is beautiful. You can also visit the PEI National Park interpretive center while there. Our first trip there this year was May 20th. Our family loves the beach!
