Confederation Trail

Best explored on foot or bicycle, the Confederation Trail runs tip-to-tip across Prince Edward Island. Built on the decommissioned railway line, the main trail is 273+ km from west to east - Tignish to Elmira. Branch trails run through small towns and communities including the heart of Charlottetown. The gradients along this rolled stone dust trail never exceed 2% making it suitable for all fitness levels. This wonderful piece of Canada has countless adventures waiting for you to discover. 

Prince Edward Island National Park

The PEI National Park has extensive walking trails, boardwalks and a paved multi-use trail for cycling and hiking. At Greenwich, see parabolic dunes while meandering across a floating boardwalk to a pristine beach. Hike at Skmaqn-Port-La-Joye-Fort Amherst Historic Site for stunning views of our capital city, Charlottetown. Discover a 5 km multi-use trail at Robinsons Island designed as a ‘stacked loop’ with short and long routes. In Cavendish, the Homestead Trail is one of the longest in the PEI National Park with 6 km or 10 km loops. Wherever you explore, you'll marvel at spectacular vistas and varied species of birds and wildlife. The PEI National Park is also home to two campgrounds with tent and RV sites, oTENTiks and bunkies.

Provincial Parks

Prince Edward Island's network of provincial parks has eight camping parks and 12 day-use parks which offer spectacular beaches, beautiful scenery, nature trails, outdoor recreation programs and activities for all ages. Enjoy 18 km of hiking and mountain biking trails at Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park or cross over the main trail at Strathgartney Provincial Park for scenic vistas. Nature lovers, bird watchers, cyclists and hikers love this park for the self-guided wooded trails and stunning views. 

Mountain Biking

Mark Arendz Provincial Park at Brookvale is the mountain biking mecca of Prince Edward Island with 22 km of single-track trail. Trails range in difficulty from easy to extremely difficult. These legendary trails are fast and worked in with faithful usage. Primarily machine-built, a newer section of 10 kms features a fast-rolling hard-pack freestyle loop called Coastline which is sure to take your expectations (and your wheels) sky-high.

With over 400 fairways closer than you can imagine, we have more than 25 amazing courses across the Island, it is always possible to play more than one course per day. Our fairways can accommodate all skill levels from beginner to professional. Steep hills, twists and turns through vistas provide panoramic views as well a glimpse of rural life. In fall, native hardwoods including sugar maple, red maple, beech and red oak create these arched canopies while spruce, pine and hemlock provide contrast and depth. In open areas, lupins, black-eyed susans, daisies, Queen Anne's lace and other wildflowers create an abundance of bloom while moss, ferns and trillium thrive in the shade.
