Prince Edward Island National Park
Location: Green Gables Shore
Supervised Beach: No
The Cavendish-North Rustico and Brackley-Dalvay regions of Prince Edward Island National Park are located along the scenic northern coastline of the central area of the province. Known for its collection of beautiful sandy beaches, this is also where you can find examples of different coastal landscapes, including the Island’s iconic red sandstone cliffs, majestic coastal sand dunes and wetlands rich with wildlife.
Discover extensive walking trails, boardwalks and two stretches of a paved, multi-use trail (Gulf Shore Way West and Gulf Shore Way East) ideal for cycling. Trails in the Cavendish area include the Dunelands with its floating boardwalk and the Homestead a stacked loop trail that crosses farm fields and runs along the coast with stunning views of the dunes and sandspit. The Brackley-Dalvay region is home to the Robinsons Island Trail System with multiple lookouts over wetlands, beaches and more, as well as the shorter, family-friendly Bubbling Springs and Farmlands Trails that wind through wooded areas and near wetlands.
Visitors are reminded that the sandy beaches of the National Park, its dunes and wooded areas are also home to important wildlife. The beautiful dunes are protected areas critical to ecosystem health and always off-limits to visitors. Beaches are also nesting areas for the endangered Piping Plover so visitors may find temporary closures from time to time. Are you traveling with pets? Please note that dogs and other pets are not permitted on beaches of the National Park from April 1 to October 15 annually. However, pets on leashes are welcome on the trails. Please plan ahead!
An entrance fee applies at PEI National Park locations from June to September annually.
